What to expect?

A lot of people are nervous about going under the laser. But don’t worry—Your treatment will be performed by a board certified nurse practitioner.

At Bare Bliss Laser Spa, we pride ourselves on being a clean, inviting, relaxing, and professional environment! From the moment you walk in, until the moment you leave, your comfort and welcoming experience is at the forefront!

The hair matrix is only sensitive to laser treatment during the anagen phase of the hair growth cycle; therefore multiple treatments will be necessary in order to address all hair follicles. In the initial phase of hair removal therapy, on average 6 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart are required to achieve adequate results.

To maintain your Bare Bliss touch up sessions are performed every 6 months to prevent new hair growth.

Treatment:

A laser hair removal session can last anywhere from a few minutes to an hour, depending on the size and number of areas treated. Before the session, you’ll be given protective eye gear. Once the session begins, you’ll feel a slight stinging sensation when the laser becomes active. Will it hurt? It really depends on your hair density and thickness, but most of our patients just describe it as a very tolerable prickling sensation and some feel minimal to no pain at all. At Bare Bliss, our FDA approved diode laser hair removal machine is equipped with a cooling head and an additional cooling device to help ensure your treatment is safe and comfortable.

There’s also a few things you need to do before and after your appointment to ensure safety and effectiveness. Please ensure you read through the Pre/Post Treatment Instructions prior to your appointment as well as complete your patient record.

How does it work?

Our nurse practitioner loves talking about laser science. Lasers work on the theory of “selective photothermolysis”. This term implies a site-specific, thermally mediated injury that results in the destruction of the hair matrix and hair bulge stem cells. During the emission of the laser, energy pulses target melanin in the hair shaft, follicular epithelium, and hair matrix. The pigment in the hair follicle absorbs the laser’s light pulse, which damages the follicle enough to significantly slow hair regrowth. How is it permanent? Our lasers travel deeper into your skin to destroy both the hair bulb & stem cells, so that unlike with waxing or shaving, there is permanent hair reduction.
